Orlaith joined Sandymount Park ETSS in September 2021 as a  teacher of Gaeilge, German and CSPE. She also supports students with additional learning needs.  Orlaith is an SEC state examiner and has an extensive understanding of post-primary education and curriculum. She has over 20 years experience as an educator and school leader. She recently received a First Class Honour in the Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership from the University of Limerick and her final assignment focused on school cultures and ethos. It was on the basis of her research for this assignment that Orlaith made the decision to move to Sandymount Park.    She led the transformation to Digital Learning in her previous school and oversaw the Green School’s initiative empowering student voice and leadership. Orlaith is a Droichead Mentor and is particularly interested in the concept of intergenerational and peer learning. She has facilitated many initiatives in her career that support and promote professional collaboration and believes every decision and action should be student-centered and evidence based.

Orlaith is a very proud First Year Progress Leader and hopes that each and every student in her care reaches their full potential by learning and participating in school life with enjoyment, respect, consistency and creativity. Orlaith is inclusive in her approach always and genuinely enjoys the extra and co-curricular opportunities to co-ordinate the Book Club on Thursdays and Language Club with Letitia on Mondays. She is leading the Fuse Anti-Bullying Program in our school and is a member of the TL2021 team of teachers who are focussing on Reflective Practice for learning this school year.
