Sandymount Park ETSS is a developing school in a beautiful location, looking out on Dublin Bay in Sandymount, Dublin 4. We opened in 2018 and from September 2023 we will have 400 students from 1st to 6th year and over 30 staff. We are easily accessible by Dart, train, bus, bike and there is ample parking onsite for staff.
Our students are enthusiastic, motivated learners who co-operate and collaborate respectfully with peers and teachers. Teachers work together to continually advance the quality of teaching and learning – we meet regularly to discuss and share practice on areas such as retrieval practice, whole class feedback, Rosenshine’s Principles, effective planning, Teams, OneNote, iPad creativity, metacognition, assessment.
There is a warm, fun, positive atmosphere in our school, daily interactions are guided by our core values of kindness, respect, empathy, hard work, participation, curiosity, creativity, democracy and community. We strive to create an environment where positive, constructive relationships between students and teachers, nurture high quality teaching and learning in the classroom.
We work together to provide a rich variety of co- and extra-curricular engagements to give students the opportunity to reach their potential socially, creatively and ethically. We are passionate about student voice and leadership, languages, sports, drama, art, music, STEM, equality, diversity and climate and sustainability. We particularly enjoy whole school events where all students and staff come together to celebrate, fundraise, showcase, share and learn.
